HUBBARD Funeral services will be held on Wednesday February 15, 2017 at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church with Fr. Joseph D. Stefano officiating for Pauline Mazarakis, 87, a lifelong resident of Hubbard, who died Sunday morning, February 12, 2017 at Sunrise of Poland. She was born May 28, 1929 in Hubbard, a daughter of George and Alexandra Cassimatis Mazarakis who were owners of the Liberty Confectionary.
Pauline’s career spanned many decades holding administrative and accounting positions at Powell Pressed Steel in Hubbard, Mall Card Shops of Boardman and The Catholic Diocese of Youngstown. She was a dedicated member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Youngstown serving in many capacities, including treasurer of St. Nicholas Philiptochos Society. She also spent numerous hours helping with various projects including the annual Greek Festival.
Pauline loved to travel when time permitted and was also known to provide a helping hand to many friends and family in need.
She is survived by her nieces, Sandy (Neil Burris) Mazarakis and Mary Mazarakis; great nephews and nieces, Michael Mazarakis (Trish), Alexa Mazarakis (David), Stefan Burris and Sophia Strickfaden (Kevin) and great-great nieces and nephew, Elise Mazarakis, Alexander and Emryll Mcaza.
Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, George and Alexandra; a brother, Arthur and sister-in-law, Ethyl Mazarakis and a nephew, George Mazarakis.
Family and friends may call one hour prior to the funeral services from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Wednesday February 15, 2017 at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 220 Walnut St., Youngstown, OH 44503.

Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery.
