Edward F. Ridel

HUBBARD A funeral mass will be held on Monday January 22, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Michael Swierz officiating for Edward F. Ridel, 86, who died Thursday afternoon January 18, 2018 at his home. He was born September 9, 1931 in Youngstown, a son of Joseph N. and Emma M. Lucas Ridel and had lived in Hubbard since 1959.

Mr. Ridel was a stationary engineer for Ohio Edison for 39 years before retiring in 1992. He was a member and senior server at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Msgr. Francis J. Hughes Council No. 2072 where he was a 3rd Degree Knight, a past Grand Knight. Edward was a 4th Degree Faithful Navigate and Commander of Bishop Franzetta Assembly of Girard Council No. 2935. He was a member of the Saxon Club and the Youngstown Eagles No. 213.

He leaves his wife, the former Elaine M. Geidner, whom he married June 22, 1957; a son, Edward F. (Connie) Ridel Jr. of St. Leonard, MD; two daughters, Kathleen M. Riccitelli of Hubbard and Sandra (Elizabeth) Ridel-Dermanelian of Raymand, Maine and 4 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter and 2 great grandsons on the way.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Norman J. Ridel and William F. Ridel and 4 sisters, Mildred Minehart, Geniveve Carey, Elizabeth Hake and Emma Marie Ridel.

Family and friends may call on Monday January 22, 2018 prior to the Mass from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church.

Edward’s final resting place will be at Hubbard Union Cemetery.
