HUBBARD Rocco A. "Albert" Alexander, 83, died Friday morning November 1, 2013 at Hospice House. He was born July 9, 1930 in Youngstown, a son of Pasquale and Beatrice Labato Alexander and was a lifelong Hubbard resident.
Mr. Alexander was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Hubbard and served with the United States Navy on board the USS Nantahala.
Rocco was an ASA Certified Master Mechanic / owner of Rocco's Auto Service for 35 years and was a member of the Automotive Service Council. He also was a member of the Hubbard Optimist Club and a charter member and past president of the Hubbard Lions Club. He was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan, followed NASCAR and enjoyed camping and playing cards.
He leaves his wife, the former Mary Bertone, whom he married April 7, 1951 at St. Patrick Church in Youngstown; two daughters, Janice (John) Ligenza of Boardman and Marilyn (Marty) Kuboff of Hubbard; a son, Albert Rocco (Wendy) Alexander of Hubbard; a brother, Gene Alexander of Las Vegas, NV; a sister, Regina (Rick) Heydle of Poland; a brother-in-law, Joseph Bertone of Leesburg, VA.
Rocco also leaves six grandchildren, Melanie (Ashley) Wilcox, Johnnie, Stephanie (Vincent) Simone, Kristina (Rob) Walker, Scott (Teri) Kuboff and Anthony Rocco (Sheila) Alexander; nine great grandchildren, Ashton, Alexa, Vincent, Emily, Lucas, Abigail, Allison, Tori, Salvatore, and a tenth, Charles soon to arrive; a beloved aunt, Antoinette Manley and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Albert Joseph; a great grandson, Adam Rocco Alexander; a brother-in-law Joseph "Kap" Kapturasky and sisters-in-law, Betty Alexander, Rose (Andrew) Marciella and Patty Bertone.
Family and friends may call on Monday 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday 9:00 AM at the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home and 9:30 AM at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church.
Rocco's family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you for the loving care provided by Dr. Maged Awadalla, all the nurses who cared for him at St. Elizabeth Hospital through the years and the angels at Hospice of the Valley.
Interment will be at Hubbard Union Cemetery.
