HUBBARD There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM on Tuesday October 8, 2013 at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church for Joann K. Gergel Lipka who departed on Saturday October 5, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family after a long battle with cancer. Joann is at peace. She was the daughter of John and Catherine Strauch Puskar.

Joann was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church and its Altar and Rosary Society where she was a past president and a current member of the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association. She worked for St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church and St. Vincent DePaul.

Joann enjoyed smiling, shopping, gardening, sewing, latch hook and collecting. She mainly enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Her first husband, Robert R. Gergel whom she married in 1959 died in 1992.

She leaves her second husband, Stanley Lipka, whom she married in 2001 and they shared a loving relationship for 12 years

She is also survived by four daughters, Julie (David) Hillman of Austintown, Elizabeth (John) Lammerding of Liberty, Christine Gergel of Hubbard and Theresa (John) Torday of Uniontown; two brothers, John (Lee) Puskar and Paul (Margaret) Puskar both of Thomasville, GA; a sister, Marilyn (Lou) Hoffman of Liberty; six grandchildren, Ryan, Autumn, Abigail, Jackson, Josh and EJ.

Family and friends may call on Tuesday, one hour prior to the services from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church.

Interment will be at Hubbard Union Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Boardman, OH 44512.
