James Priester Obituary

GIRARD James Dennis Priester, 70, of Girard, died Sunday evening, December 12, 2021 at his home. He was born May 28, 1951 in Youngstown, a son of Lloyd M. and Arlene L. Bochert Priester.

Mr. Priester attended the Bethel Assemblies of God in Austintown. He was a former officer of The Salvation Army. James enjoyed music and was briefly a member of the Youngstown Community Orchestra.

He is survived by a son, John Priester of Arkansas; three daughters, Cheryl Bonney of Michigan, Ruth Young of Oklahoma and Becky Kerns of Kansas; a step son, Daniel Saydera and a stepdaughter, Suzy Haslett; a brother, Donald L. Priester of Youngstown; a sister, Mary Sue (Ricardo) Castillo of Matthews, NC; a stepbrother, Melvin Currie of Baltimore and a sister-in-law, Trina Priester of Pleasant Gap, PA.

James was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Ophelia; a brother, Dave Priester and a stepbrother, Albert Currie.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.

His final resting place will be at Tod Homestead Cemetery.
