Charles Wittenauer Obituary

HUBBARD A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday August 21, 2018 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Michael Swierz officiating for Charles B. “Chick” Wittenauer, 88, who died Thursday morning August 16, 2018 at Hospice House. He was born April 27, 1930 in Hubbard, a son of Carl V. and Dorothy Brown Wittenauer and was a lifelong Hubbard resident.

Chick was a 1948 graduate of Hubbard High School, served with the United States Army during the Korean War and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Youngstown College. He was the director of accounting for the former RMI Titanium now Arconic for 35 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, having been a past festival chairman, active in Christ Renews His Parish and a member of the Knights of Columbus Hubbard Council 2072. Chick was also a former scout leader for Troop 103.

His wife, the former Ann Marie “Dee” Mikus, whom he married May 29, 1954, died July 30, 1993.

He leaves three sons, David Jeffrey (Shirley) Wittenauer of Hubbard; Gary S. (Yvonne) Wittenauer of Hubbard and Thomas E. Wittenauer of Girard; a daughter, Denise M. (Dave) Cousino of Avon, OH; a brother, Jerome (Barbara) Wittenauer of New Middletown; two sisters, Rose (Eugene) Yuhas of Struthers and Joan Clark of Baton Rouge, LA; sisters-in-law, Shirley Wittenauer of Vienna and Barbara Vogel Wittenauer of Hubbard. He will be greatly missed by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Chick was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Margaret Goterba and Martha Tygart and two brothers, Edward and James Wittenauer.

Family and friends may call on Monday August 20, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home and also prior to the Funeral Mass on Tuesday from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church.

The family requests memorial donations be made to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St. Youngstown, OH 44512.

Interment will be at Hubbard Union Cemetery.
