Biography

HUBBARD Winston B. Swan, 86, died Wednesday morning, March 7, 2012 at Hospice House. He was born January 30, 1926 in Salamanca, NY a son of Sharon C. and Marie H. Briggs Swan and has lived here for 49 years coming from Randolph, NY.

Mr. Swan was a clerk for Conrail for 45 years, retiring in 1988. He served with the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean War. Winston enjoyed photography, traveling, reading and writing.

He leaves his wife, the former Barbara J. Cummings, whom he married February 22, 1947; three sons, Lee (Lori) Swan of Hubbard, David (Lucy) Swan of Marysville, OH and William (Lisa) Swan of Aurora; two daughters, Deborah (Rene) VanTol of Round Rock, TX and Mary (Joel) Baker of Struthers; two brothers, Ronald (Karoline) Swan of Rociada, NM and James (Janice) Swan of Randolph, NY; 7 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
