NEW BEDFORD William P. Miller, 83, died Tuesday morning, July 27, 2010 at Lawrence County Geri Care. He was born June 18, 1927 in Cleveland, a son of Paul and Margaret Hutzler Miller.

Mr. Miller was a lead shipper for Truscon Steel and Republic Steel for 30 years before retiring July 1, 1978. He serbed with the United States Navy. William was a member of various coin clubs, enjoyed hunting and fishing and made his own guns, crafts and furniture.

His wife, the former Mary L. Jackson, whom he married August 28, 1967, died August 31, 2003.

He leaves a son, W. James (Gay) Miller of New Bedford; two sisters, Dee (Red) Baker and Gerry Rucci; three grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a stepson, Robert Hackett; two brothers, Jack and Raymond Miller and a sister, Peggy Ann Dotson.

Funeral services will be held Friday, 10:00 AM at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home.

Family and friends may call on Thursday 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
