HUBBARD William A. Macovitz, 74, of Hubbard, died Tuesday, January 20, 2004, at Northside Medical Center. He was born January 30, 1929 in Youngstown, a son of Frank and Marie Cannane Macovitz, and lived most of his life in the area.

Mr. Macovitz worked for LTV Steel for 27 years and retired in 1977. He was of the Methodist faith and a member of Youngstown Lodge #615 F & AM. William enjoyed camping, fishing with his family, working on cars and was a wonderful "Mister Fix-It" man. He loved gardening. He knew everything there was to know about vegetable, flower, shrub and tree gardening.

He leaves two sons, Gary Macovitz of Bunn, NC and David Macovitz of Struthers; a daughter, Joyce (Gary) Yankowski of Canfield; two brothers, Robert Macovitz of Youngstown and Paul Macovitz of Prescott Valley, Arizona; five grandchildren, Stacey Yankowski, Sarah, Geary, Timothy and Nicholas Macovitz.

His parents, two brothers, Francis Macovitz and Ronald Macovitz, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. where there will be a Masonic service at 8:00 p.m.
