Biography

HUBBARD Lifelong Hubbard resident William Joseph Keyes, 74, died Thursday morning September 13, 202 at Sharon Regional Hospital after a lengthy illness with his family at his side.

Mr. Keyes was born March 29, 1938 in Youngstown to Mary (Knapik) Keyes and Joseph Keyes. Mr. Keyes enjoyed hunting, fishing and sports. He was an accomplished design draftsman and owner of William J. Keyes and Associates. He retired from the Ohio Department of Corrections maintenance department in Coitsville. Prior to that, Mr. Keyes spent many years working as a designer for such organizations as Husted H.B. and A. P. O'Hora. Mr. Keyes was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps. January 17, 1962 and was a member of St. Patrick Church and the Knights of Columbus.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Joseph Keyes; a sister, Margaret Mary (Keyes) Meyers; two brothers-in-law, Wilbur Meyers and John Tary. He is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Bonnie (Goncz) Keyes; a daughter, Shannon; a son, Seth; grandson, Jacob; his sister, Elizabeth (Keyes) Tary and a loving extended family.

At his and his family's request, there will be no calling hours or services.
