AKRON William W. Kachelries, 84, of Akron, formerly of Hubbard, died Tuesday, January 6, 2004 at Akron General Hospital. He was born July 7, 1919, in Coalport, PA, a son of Edward and Mary Walton Kachelries.

Mr. Kachelries worked for General Fireproofing Corp., retiring in 1980. He was a member of the ODD Fellows, IOOF in Hubbard and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

His wife, the former Dorothy Seigh, whom he married in 1941, died July 15, 1985.

He leaves a son, Darrel W. of Hubbard; two daughters, Gina Jabbar of Akron and Darla Ann Miller of Youngstown; a brother, Ivan of Hubbard; two sisters, Mary Beatty and Joyce Halliday, both of Hubbard; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, William, and a brother, John.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home.

Friends may call at the funeral home 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday.
