HUBBARD William A. Johnson, 79, of Hubbard, died Sunday evening, June 10, 2007, at his residence. He was born on August 3, 1927, in Lewistown, PA, a son of Arthur and Renelda Tuttle Johnson and lived most of his life in the area.
Mr. Johnson worked for U. S. Steel Corporation McDonald Works for 28 years, retiring in 1980. He was a member of St. Patrick Church in Hubbard, the N.R.A. and the Penn Ohio Button Box Club. A veteran of the U. S. Navy, he marched in the Memorial Day parade in Hubbard for 40 years. Bill and his wife, Dotty, restored the oldest home in the Western Reserve area of the Connecticut Land Grant and still reside in it. He enjoyed hunting, woodworking, gardening and spending time with his family.
He leaves his wife, the former Dorothy L. "Dotty" Chura, whom he married on November 25, 1950; four sons, Dana A. (Francie) Johnson, Michael A. (Patricia) Johnson, Donald A. Johnson and Robert A. Johnson, all of Hubbard; three daughters, Dotti M. Johnson and Nancy K. Miller, both of Hubbard and Linda A. (Rick) Kinser of Twinsburg; a sister, Betty Tascione of Beaumont, TX; 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
His parents, a son, William A. Johnson and a brother, Bud Johnson, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, 9:15 a.m. at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home and at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Church in Hubbard.
Family and friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
