William Van Horne's Obituary


HUBBARD William H. Van Horne, 72, died Wednesday morning November 21, 2012 at Liberty Health Care. He was born November 28, 1939 in Niles, a son of Homer E. and Elizabeth Thomas Van Horne and was a lifelong area resident.

Mr. Van Horne was an electrician for Packard Electric for 42 years, retiring in 2007. He was a graduate of Howland High School and served with the United States Air Force. William was a member of the First United Methodist Church, was a past Illustrious Master of the Masonic Lodge in Youngstown, a member of the New Castle Scottish Rite and the Vienna Gun Club. William was also a member of the Trumbull Travelers Camping Group and the Candle Glow Support Group. He enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing and shooting pistols and rifles.

His wife, the former Doris J. Lynn, whom he married July 29, 1961, died June 3, 2012.

He leaves two sons, Curtis (Mary Jo) Van Horne of Wake Forest, NC and Keith (Pam) Van Horne of Wylie, TX and six grandchildren.

William was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Jon W. Van Horne; two infant brothers and a sister, Harriet Hake.

Family and friends may call on Friday 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home and also one hour prior to the services on Saturday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held Saturday 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church.

Interment will take place at Hubbard Union Cemetery.
