HUBBARD Mr. William L. Helmbrecht, 80, of Hubbard, died Friday morning, October 11, 2002, at Orange Village Care Center. He was born December 24, 1921 in Sharon, PA, a son of Donald P. and Edith Fawcett Helmbrecht and was a lifelong area resident.

Mr. Helmbrecht was President and part owner of Metal Crafts, Hubbard for 36 years before retiring in 1994. He was a member of the Hubbard Church of the Nazarene and served as a church board member for 35 years. Mr. Helmbrecht served with the United States Air Force during World War II, volunteered driving the Hubbard Senior Citizens Van and enjoyed ham radio, computers and swimming.

He leaves his wife, the former, Grace O. Johnson, whom he married June 25, 1941; a son, Bruce Helmbrecht of Great Mills, MD; a sister, Donna (Gus) Vasalakis of Alabama and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday, 11:00 AM at the Hubbard Church of the Nazarene.

Friends may call at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home on Sunday, 5 to 9 PM and also one hour prior to the service at the church, 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
