CAMPBELL A memorial service was held Thursday, 10:00 AM at Brookfield Cemetery Chapel for William H. Armstrong, 71 of 327 Jackson St. who died of cancer Tuesday morning at his home.

He was born August 20, 1929 in Youngstown, a son of Marshal and Mildred Evans Twigg and was a lifelong area resident.

Mr. Armstrong was a machinist, repairman and an oiler for Wean United for 21 years before retiring in 1991, prior to this he was a radar technician for the United States Air Force for 20 years before retiring in 1966, serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Struthers.

He leaves his wife, the former Vivian Palmer, whom he married January 16, 1971; four sons, John Hassler of Orlando, FL, Edward Hassler if Alganac, MI, David Hassler of North Carolina and William L. Armstrong of Struthers, OH; three daughters, Lucil Bowdish of Lake Milton, OH, Colleen Imel of Defuniak Springs, FL and Susan Groves of Erie, PA; a brother, Clifford Armstrong of Youngstown; two sisters, Marsha Pratt of Hubbard and Jennie Goff of Tampa, FL; 23 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

There were no calling hours.
