COLUMBUS Ward Thomas Johnson, 43, of Powell, OH, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on Friday, November 30, 2007. He was born on October 19, 1964, in Jamestown, NY, a son of Richard M. and Patricia A. Newberry Johnson. He moved to Liberty Twp. with his family in 1968, and lived in Powell for the past 20 years.
Ward was a graduate of Liberty High School and Youngstown State University and was employed as a Network Services Technician with Ohio Rehabilitation Services Commission in Columbus. He was a former member of Churchill United Methodist Church in Liberty, the Liberty High School Marching Band and currently a member of Ingjald Lodge No. 65, Independent Order of Vikings in Jamestown, NY. Ward enjoyed boating, camping and family gatherings at Chautauqua Lake, NY and will be remembered for his family devotion, his loving helpfulness and his warm personality. He had a special bond with his dogs, Bouncer, his constant pal and protector when he was growing up, then Snowy, followed by Sheeba and Annie.
He is survived by his parents of Brookfield; four brothers, Steven (Barbara) Johnson of Venice, FL, Gary (Debra) Johnson of Sarasota, FL, Jeffrey Johnson of Hubbard, and William (Heidi) Johnson of Cary, NC; nine nieces and nephews and one great-niece.
He was preceded in death by a nephew, Chad Johnson.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home in Hubbard, where family and friends may call from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., prior to the service.
