Ward Babcock's Obituary


HUBBARD Ward M. Babcock, 80, of Hubbard, died Thursday evening, June 1, 2006, at his residence. He was born February 6, 1926, in Otter Creek Twp., PA, a son of Roscoe S. and Ethel M. Small Babcock and lived in Hubbard since 1972.

Mr. Babcock worked for D. D. Davis Construction Company for 42 years, retiring in 1988. He attended First Assembly of God Church in Hermitage, PA and was a member of the Hubbard Senior Citizens. Ward enjoyed camping, spoiling his grandchildren and was a handyman that friends and neighbors would call on for help.

His wife, the former Martha J. Steadman, whom he married on May 3, 1959, died on March 1, 1987.

He leaves four sons, Gary L. (Bonnie) Babcock of Hubbard, Ward Allen (Tina) Babcock of Seattle, WA, Daryl E. (Michelle) Babcock of Hubbard and Glenn A. (Julia) Babcock of Mercer, PA; a daughter, Diane L. (Ken) Foy of Greenville, PA; a brother, Earl Babcock of Beckley, WV; three sisters, Elnor Reigleman and Clara Shafer, both of Greenville, PA and Ella Seddon of Bryan TX; 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Besides his wife, his parents, a daughter, Sharon Babcock, two brothers, Harry and William Babcock and a sister, Margaret Chaparis, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home in Hubbard.

Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday and 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
