HUBBARD Walter R. Phibbs, Sr., 81, died Friday morning, June 18, 2010 at his daughter's residence. He was born February 26, 1929 in West Middlesex, PA a son of Walter Price and Francis Dunlap Phibbs and was a lifelong area resident.

Mr. Phibbs worked for Youngstown Steel Door for 20 years before retiring in 1978 and had also worked for Republic Steel. He served with the United States Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Royal Order of Moose of Warren. Walter enjoyed Ham Radio and CB's, walking his dog and had coached Little League Baseball.

His wife, the former Joann Pennock, whom he married March 10, 1951, died July 24, 1999.

He leaves four sons, Dennis P. (Marilyn) Phibbs of Sharpsville, Daniel W. (Jackie) Phibbs of Hubbard, David P. (Paula) Phibbs of Austintown and Bruce P. (Lori) Phibbs of Pittsburgh; two daughters, Robin A. (Dale) Ebert and Cathy F. (Richard) Ebert both of Austintown; two daughters in law, Richawn Timlin and Diane Phibbs; a sister, Sally Phibbs Rae; 25 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Walter R. "Bobby" Phibbs, Jr. and Paul B. Phibbs and a granddaughter, Alesha Dawn Ebert.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 11:00 AM at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home.

Family and friends may call on Tuesday, 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Hubbard Union Cemetery.
