DALEVILLE, AL Walter W. Groves, 92, formerly of Hubbard, died May 4, 2007, at his residence in Alabama. He was born on August 17, 1914, in Maysville, WV, a son of August W. and Mary M. Keplinger Groves, moving to Hubbard in 1952 and to Alabama in 1995.

Mr. Groves worked for U. S. Steel Corporation Ohio Works for 26 years, retiring in 1976. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hubbard and its Men's Club. Walter had been a K.N.O.W. Club table parent.

His wife, the former Grace C. Bennett, whom he married on February 12, 1952, died on October 7, 1990.

He leaves a son, Larry (Cindy) Groves of Daleville, AL and two daughters, Patricia Skruck of Columbus, OH and Carolyn (Phil) Roudebush of Canfield; 9 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Besides his wife, his parents, a son, Michael Bennett and two brothers, Claude and Eugene Groves, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home in Hubbard.
