HUBBARD Virginia M. Paisley, 86, of Hubbard, died Friday, December 5, 2003, at her residence. She was born February 3, 1917, in Ashtabula, OH a daughter of Samuel and Pearl Holcomb Porter and had lived in Hubbard since 1946.
A homemaker, Mrs. Paisley previously worked for the former Liberty Confectionary, Parr Drug and Jones Drug. She was also a seamstress.
She was a 50-year member of the First Baptist Church of Hubbard where she was a member of the Up and Going Class, a Sunday School teacher, held many offices and served on several boards. She was a member of the Hubbard Rebekah Lodge, No. 758 and had served as its State of Ohio representative. In November 1975, she received the Decoration of Chivalry from the IOOF Sovereign Grand Lodge.
Her husband, John L. Paisley, whom she married June 15, 1940, died September 22, 1973. She leaves a daughter, Joan L. (Raymond) Payton of Hubbard and one grandson, John L. Payton of Hubbard.
Her parents, a daughter, Margaret Paisley, two brothers, William and Warren Porter and a sister, Lucille Rhines Griffin, preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Monday at the First Baptist Church of Hubbard.
Friends may call at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home on Sunday, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM and on Monday one hour prior to the service at church. The Rebekah Lodge will have a service at 8:00 PM Sunday.
