YOUNGSTOWN Virginia R. "Jidge" Crank, 80, of Youngstown, died Wednesday evening, February 14, 2007, at Liberty Health Care Center. She was born on May 17, 1926, in Grove City, PA, a daughter of Patsy and Providence Anzelmo Moffo and moved back to the area in 1997 after living in Florida for 20 years.

Mrs. Crank, a homemaker, formerly worked as a translator, dental assistant, salesperson for the Singer Sewing Machine Company and Avon, a personnel consultant for Snelling & Snelling and a public relations manager for Judge Alfred E. Dahling's 1974 election campaign. She was of the Lutheran faith.

Always very civic-minded, she did a variety of volunteer work with the Warren League of Women Voters, Girl Scouts, P.T.A., Lutheran Senior Citizens and Friendly Visitors, Warren Metropolitan Association, Area Betterment Council, Trumbull County Vocational Educational Council, Hotline Advisory Board, Mahoning-Trumbull Air Pollution Board, Tuberculosis and Health Association Board and Environmental Health Council and Solid Waste Council.

Her husband, Ralph G. Crank, whom she married on February 7, 1948, died on March 6, 1984.

She leaves a son, Richard W. Crank; a daughter, Patricia (Steve) Ard of Hubbard; a sister, Dorothy (Mitchell) Rushwin of Liberty; her mother-in-law, Olive Crank of Niles; two grandchildren, Patrick Ard of Hubbard and Justin (Tanya) Crank of Huron, OH and a great-grandson, Alexander Crank of Huron, OH.

Besides her husband, her parents, two brothers, Ronald and Eugene Moffo and four sisters, Frances Wilson, Annette Burnett, Emma Pitts and Elvera Clark, preceded her in death.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 24 at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home in Hubbard, where family and friends may call from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.
