HUBBARD – Private graveside services were held for Virginia Ilene Bennett, 83, who passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon, Nov. 30, 2024, after a brief stay at Hospice of the Valley, surrounded by her loving family.

Virginia, affectionately known as "Tootsie," was born on Dec. 21, 1940, in Hubbard, Ohio, to parents Arthur and Helen Fisher.

She was a graduate of West Middlesex High School and went on to work at the Hubbard Schools in the cafeteria in different roles for many years.

She enjoyed watching her soap opera, "Days of Our Lives," since it first aired in 1965 and almost never missed an episode. She loved listening to country music and taking long car rides along country roads with no intended destination. She enjoyed gardening and planting flowers. She was also fond of taking plenty of videos and photos with her iPad, which never left her side. She looked forward to the family reunion each year and holiday gatherings for which she was known for her great cooking and baking.

She is survived by her sister Norma Pugh; her five children Debbie Sheely, Charles Webster, Larry Webster, Eileen Linton and Christine King; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her two brothers, Joe Fisher and Larry Fisher.

The family would like to thank the staff at Mercy Hospital MICU and Hospice of the Valley for their compassionate care during Virginia's illness.

She will be deeply missed, but forever in our hearts.
