Obituary


HUBBARD Violet S. Purich, 86, of Hubbard, died Thursday, February 19, 2004, at Northside Medical Center. She was born November 5, 1917, in Passaic, NJ, a daughter of Anthony and Anna Hohos Spanja. A long time Farrell resident, she moved to Maryland in 1979, Florida in 2002 and returned to Hubbard in December 2003.

Mrs. Purich worked for Sharon General Hospital, retiring in 1979. She was a member of Aria Singing Society, Croatian American Civic Club and was past president of Sloga Tamburitzans Auxiliary, all in Farrell, PA. She enjoyed singing, reading and was a master seamstress of ethnic costumes.

She is survived by her husband, Edward S. Purich, whom she married August 23, 1940; three sons, Edward D. (Jeanne) Purich of Silver Spring, MD, Dr. Daniel L. (Nora) Purich of Gainesville, FL and Dale M. (Betty) Purich of Silver Spring, MD; two daughters, Donnajean (Ronald) Enyeart of Hubbard and Darlane J. (Roy) Kroening of Bloomington, MN; a brother, Paul M. Bracic of Tacoma, WA; 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, a son, David R. Purich and a brother, Frank Spanja, preceded her in death.

There will be no calling hours or funeral services.

Funeral arrangements were handled by the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home.
