AUSTINTOWN Victor L. Louis, 80, passed away Wednesday morning May 15, 2013 peacefully in his sleep after a lengthy illness. Victor was born July 27, 1932 in Youngstown, a son of Louis S. and Grace T. Kennedy Louis.

Vic worked as an electrician at General Motors in Lordstown for over 30 years, retiring in 2003. He was a 33rd degree Mason, Mahoning County Constable, a proud member of the Buckeye State Sheriffs Association, a private investigator and he owned and taught archery in Hubbard in the 1970's.

Vic is the founder of Hikado Karate, which is known in 29 countries around the world. He was a Grand Master 10th Dan Black belt in Hikado-Do. He is one of 10 in the country and 20 in the world in the Ateru Worldwide Association in which he was inducted in 2008, receiving a limited edition diploma, board of director citation and lifetime membership in AWA. Vic was a grandmaster instructor of Karate in several schools throughout Ohio, New York, Pennsylvania and Kentucky. He also taught self defense to the Youngstown Police Department, the Academy, the Mahoning County Sheriff's Dept. and women's groups.

He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather by his beautiful and loving wife of 51 years, Leeta C. Louis, whom he married December 15, 1961; three children, Dianne Hull, Vickie (Andy) Balog and Stephen (Beatrice) Louis; eleven grandchildren, Norman Hull, William Nalepa, Alicia, Nicole and Andrew Balog, Haley, Aleea, Stephen Jr., Sophia, Faith and Breanna Louis; two great grandchildren, Gianni and Julian Hull. He also leaves his sister, Mrs. Emogene Ditzler of Austintown and his four legged buddy "Max".

Per Victor's wishes, there will be no services. Family and friends are welcome to visit the family on Saturday May 25, 2013, 4:00 to 7:00 PM at 1914 Burr Oaks Ct., Austintown, OH 44515.
