HUBBARD Velva E. Trail, 96, died Thursday morning May 12, 2011 at Park Vista. She was born March 17, 1915 in Fries, VA a daughter of Terry C. and Larma A. Newman Swinney and moved to Hubbard in 1946.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Susanna Wesley and Fifth Wheel Classes and active on different committees.

Velva was a cashier and bookkeeper for Robert Hall Clothes for 20 years, retiring in 1977 and also a sales clerk for Catherine's Dress Shoppe from 1978 to 1982. She was a member of Amalgamated Clothier Teamster Workers Union of America.

Her husband, Harold E. Trail, whom she married February 18, 1941, died December 8, 1959.

She leaves a daughter in law, Mary Joe Trail of Stow; three grandsons, Bill, Douglas and Ed Trail; a granddaughter, Jeanine; six great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter; a brother, Ralph G. Swinney of New Middletown and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Ralph E. Trail and a sister, Ina Dell Swinney.

She was also preceded in death by her step daughter, Deloris Smith. Deloris gave her two grandsons, a granddaughter, three great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday 11:30 AM at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home.

There are no calling hours.

Memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 48 Church St., Hubbard, OH 44425.

Burial will be at Hubbard Union Cemetery.
