HUBBARD Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday September 22, 2015 at the Hubbard Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Michael Byus officiating for Velma G. Snyder, 85, who died Saturday morning September 19, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born November 23, 1929 in Timblin, PA a daughter of Ellis and Pearl Minich Snyder and has lived in Hubbard since 1953.
Mrs. Snyder was a graduate of Punxsutawney High School and was Co-Owner of Bob Snyder Electric from 1959 to 2008 where she served as Vice President and was also the bookkeeper and secretary. She was a member of the Hubbard Church of the Nazarene and served on the Missionary Council where she participated in Work and Witness mission trips. Velma loved to travel, enjoyed camping, ceramics, building puzzles, cooking, baking and canning.
She leaves her husband of 66 years, Robert J. Snyder, whom she married September 16, 1949; four sons, Randy Snyder of Burghill, Terry (Sheila) Snyder, Richard (Darlene) Snyder and Donald (Marcie) Snyder all of Hubbard; a brother, Thomas (Dorothy) Snyder of Dora, PA; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Ernest Snyder; an infant son, Timothy and a granddaughter, Jennifer N. Snyder.
Family and friends may call on Monday, 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home.
Memorial donations may be made to the Hubbard Church of the Nazarene, 1815 Cherry Lane, Hubbard, OH 44425.
Interment will be at Hubbard Union Cemetery.
