HUBBARD Theresa Rose Carano, 89, died Friday evening April 25, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. She was born February 1, 1925 in Youngstown, a daughter of Joseph A. and Theresa Tucciarone Mattinat and was a lifelong Hubbard resident.

Mrs. Carano worked in the family business at Mattinat Cleaners in Hubbard for many years, and was a member of the St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church. Theresa was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary and was a competitive Bridge player and avid golfer.

Her husband, John J. Carano Sr., whom she married September 25, 1949, died March 2, 2005.

She leaves a son, John J. (Teresa) Carano Jr. of Dublin, OH; a daughter, Juliana C. (Carl) Swabek of Cincinnati, OH; a brother, Joseph M. (Elizabeth) Mattinat of Hubbard; a sister, Carole M. Bryant of Midwest City, OK and five grandchildren, Carolyn Swabek, Stephen Swabek, Paul Swabek, Celeste Carano and Monica Carano.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial mass will be held Friday May 16, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church.

Family and friends may call one hour prior to the services on Friday May 16, 2014 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church.

The family requests memorial donations be made to the Catholic Charities Bishops Annual Appeal, 144 W. Wood St., Youngstown, OH 44503 or to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Boardman, OH 44512.

Theresa's final resting place will be at St. Patrick Cemetery.
