HUBBARD Mrs. Theresa Balakoff, 74, formerly of Hubbard, died Wednesday morning, February 27, 2002 at St. Mary's Alzheimer's Center – Windsor House, Columbiana, OH. She was born September 17, 1927 in Campbell, OH, a daughter of Michael and Ann Kraynak Kozak and was a lifelong area resident, living in Hubbard since 1959.
Mrs. Balakoff, also known as Terry, worked for Peoples, Lane and Rite Aid Drug Stores for 25 years. She was a member of St. Patrick Church, Hubbard, a volunteer for the Democratic Party and an election worker. She was a Hubbard Boosterette and was very active in sports and Little League Baseball.
Her husband, John "Blue" Balakoff, whom she married January 17, 1948, died May 16, 1995. She leaves two sons, Gary M. (Kathy) Balakoff of Orwigsburg, PA and Gregory J. (Bonnie) Balakoff of Hermitage, PA; three sisters, Ann Banyots and Helen Giba, both of Youngstown and Agnes Lekwar of Pittsburgh, PA; four grandsons. Three brothers, Lawrence, Michael and Joseph Kozak are deceased.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home, Hubbard.
