Obituary

HUBBARD Theodora Ann Schlais, 86, died peacefully Friday morning, October 17, at her home.

Theodora was born June 19, 1922, in Columbus, OH, a daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Caruso) Pollice.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, her brother Frank Pollice, and a sister Josephine Vukovich.

Besides her husband, Anthony A. Schlais, whom she married on November 28, 1946, she leaves two sons, Michael (Marsha) Schlais of Boardman and Wendell (Debbie) Schlais of Hubbard; a daughter, Catherine (Richard) Fulytar of Howland; and a sister, Mary McQuillan of Campbell. She also leaves six grandchildren; Richard (Sarah) Fulytar of Hudson, Ryan (Shannon) Fulytar of Chicago, Melissa (Daniel) Milush of Boardman, Michael (Brie) Schlais of Toledo, Laura (Kurt) Foster of Hilliard, Wendell Kenneth Schlais of Bazetta and a great-granddaughter Lydia Claire Foster.

Theodora was a graduate of East High School in 1940. After high school she worked at Blair Dry Cleaners in Youngstown. After her marriage she worked for a short time at Peoples' Drug Store in Hubbard and in the canteen at the Truscon Division of the Republic Steel Corporation in Youngstown.

Theodora was a homemaker and she loved to bake. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Those closest to "Theo" knew her as an incredibly strong, loyal, and generous woman. Her home was always open to family and friends, and she was always ready to give them a home-cooked meal. She would go out of her way to help anyone in need.

Theodora was a life-long member of St. Patrick Church in Hubbard where she volunteered at the church and at the school.

There will be funeral services Tuesday, 9:30 AM at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home and at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick Church.

The family will receive friends Monday from 5 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
