Obituary


HUBBARD Stanley J. Rydar (Rydarowicz), 87 of Hubbard, died at 1:18 PM Saturday, December 14, 2002, at Liberty Health Care Center. He was born March 29, 1915 in Youngstown a son of John and Mary Kantor Rydarowicz and lived most of his life in Hubbard.

Mr. Rydar was a foreman at Wean Manufacturing Co. in Warren where he worked for 25 years retiring in 1972. He was a member of St. Patrick Church, Hubbard and a 1931 graduate of South High School. He was an avid golfer, who started as a caddy at the age of 14 at Mill Creek Golf Course and, in his lifetime, made three holes in one. He was a Grand Knight of the Third Degree of the Knights of Columbus, Msgr. Francis J. Hughes Council, No. 2072, Hubbard and the Faithful Navigator of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus in Lake Havasu City, AZ. He was an Honorary Life Member of the Third Degree and belonged to the Rio Colorado Assembly 1641 of The Fourth Degree. He belonged to the Trumbull County Foreman's Association and the St. Vincent De Paul Society where he served as secretary.

Mr. Ryder moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ in 1972 where he worked for the water department and studied silversmithing, stained glass art and Spanish. In Arizona, he was the founder of the Knights of Columbus Chapter and a member of the Our Lady of the Lake Church. Four years ago, he moved back to Hubbard to be closer to family.

He leaves his wife, the former Margaret Mary Audrey LaVan, whom he married August 19, 1939; two sons, John (Roberta) Rydarowicz of Leetonia, OH and Francis "Jerry" (Jean) Rydarowicz of Hubbard; a daughter, Kathleen (Tom) Rydar Boyden of San Francisco, CA; 14 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. His parents, two brothers, Joseph and Frank Rydarowicz and a sister, Helen Homa are deceased.

Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Tuesday at St. Patrick Church.

There are no calling hours.
