EDINBURG PA A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at St. James the Apostle Parish for Sophie Bubela, 104, who died Wednesday evening July 1, 2015 at Maple Crest Nursing Home in Struthers. She was born January 19, 1911 in Philadelphia, PA, a daughter of Peter and Katherine Strumlock and had lived in the area for 15 years coming from the Utica, NY area.

Mrs. Bubela, a homemaker, was a member of St. James the Apostle Parish in Pulaski PA.

Her husband, John Bubela, whom she married June 17, 1944, died September 21, 1980.

She leaves a son, John (Deborah) Bubela of Connecticut; a daughter, Katherine (Robert) Fischer of Edinburg, PA and 4 grandchildren.

Family and friends may call on Saturday, two hours prior to the Mass from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. James the Apostle Parish.

Interment will be at St. John Cemetery in Newport, NY.
