HUBBARD Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Dirk van der Duim officiating for Shirley Anne LaCivita, 80, who died Sunday January 17, 2016 at Northside Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born November 3, 1935 in Hubbard, a daughter of Stephen R. and Julia H. Turchan Tickey and was a lifelong Hubbard resident.
Mrs. LaCivita was a 1953 graduate of Hubbard High School and had worked for several flower shops before owning and operating Posey Patch Floral and Gift Shop in Brookfield for 10 years. She previously had worked for Harvels as the Secretary to the Vice President.
Shirley was a very active, life member of Grace Lutheran Church in Hubbard. She taught Sunday school, was the church Secretary, and enjoyed cooking and decorating for various occasions. She had many talents including gardening, cooking, baking for family and friends, making porcelain dolls and crocheting, but most of all loved and adored her grandchildren.
She leaves her husband of 58 years, Chuck LaCivita, whom she married February 23, 1957; two daughters, Renee LaCivita of Chicago and Pamela (Dean) Pitell of Pittsburgh and two granddaughters, Julia and Dana.
