FOWLER Shirley R. Glod, 69, died Saturday, November 24, 2007, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. She was born June 21, 1938, in Struthers, a daughter of Clifford and Dorothy Barger Christy and lived most of her life in this area.
Mrs. Glod worked in the Bursar's office at Youngstown State University for many years and also worked in banks while living in the Philadelphia area. She was of the Protestant faith and enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She leaves her husband, John "Jack" W. Glod, whom she married August 17, 1956; a son, Michael J. Glod of Fowler; two daughters, Cheryl "Cherie" (Glenn) Johnson of Hubbard and Christine (Mike Herring) Barrett of Langhorne, PA; a sister, Betty Yozwiak of Canfield; six grandchildren, Jared, Monique, Kristopher, Zachary, Daniel and Derek and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother, Ann Christy, half brother, Clifford Christy Jr., step-brother, John Calabrese.
Services will be held 11:00 am Thursday at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home, Hubbard.
