HUBBARD Ruth D. Zabel, 82, passed away Friday morning, April 21, 2006 at Sunrise Assisted Living of Poland where she had resided since February 2000. She was born October 21, 1923, in Youngstown, a daughter of Ann and Adam Myers.

Mrs. Zabel was a graduate of East High School in Youngstown and was a former employee of the General Electric Lamp Division, also in Youngstown. Moving to Hubbard in 1955, she spent her married life as a devoted wife, mom and homemaker and was a former member of St. Patrick Church. She will be sadly missed for her friendly, outgoing personality and her wonderful sense of humor. Ruth had a strong love and caring for animals

Her husband, Roy Zabel, with whom she spent over 50 years, passed away on October 19, 2000.

She leaves her daughter, Tina (Keith) Downard of Canfield; two sons, Ray (his fiancée, Jennifer Wolfe) of Hubbard and Edward (Pamela) Zabel of Piqua; her three cherished grandchildren include, Christina Downard (her fiancée, Jim Cvetkovic) of Youngstown; Zachary Zabel of Piqua and Jeremy (Tiffany) Zabel of Spokane, WA who is serving in the U.S. Air Force, Fairchild, AFB; two sisters, Roselyn Shannon of Longwood, FL and Patty Lou O'Neil of Cleveland and a brother, Adam Myers of Youngstown.

Besides her husband, her parents, and three siblings, William Myers, Anna Mae Wilson and Betty Hreen, preceded her in death.

Following a private family burial, a memorial celebration of life is planned with details to be announced.
