HUBBARD Ruth I. Chovan, 80, of Hubbard, died March 14, 2004, at her residence. She was born September 11, 1923, in Greenville, PA, a daughter of Samuel Scott and Estella Agnes Harpst Hollibaugh and lived most of her life in Hubbard.

Mrs. Chovan was a homemaker and worked at Sharon Steel during World War II and Jimmy's Dept. Store in West Middlesex, PA. She was a member of the Hubbard Church of the Nazarene and was baptized in the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in New Hamburg, PA. She enjoyed playing cards, working jigsaw puzzles, crocheting and was very proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She leaves her husband, Edward Chovan, whom she married August 25, 1945; a son, Paul E. (Diane) of Hubbard and a daughter, Carol (Michael) Warren of Antioch, CA; a sister, Mary Wilcox of Farrell, PA; five grandchildren, Karen Wagner, Judi Chovan, Bryon Hopkins, Ryan Chovan and Patrick Chovan; and 5 great-grandchildren, Tayler, Madisen and Gillian Hopkins, Ian Chovan and Benjamin Wagner.

Her parents; two sisters, Martha McDowell and Carrie Sigler; a brother, Samuel Hollibaugh and a nephew, Tom Hollibaugh preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home.
Burial will take place in Haywood Cemetery, West Middlesex, PA.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5 to 8:00 p.m.
