Russell Buzek's Obituary


HUBBARD Russell B. Buzek, 50, of Hubbard, died Friday evening, January 27, 2006, at Sharon Regional Health System following a long illness. He was born January 2, 1956, in Youngstown, a son of George and Nancy J. Evock Buzek and was a life long area resident.

Russell was a dispatcher for the Hubbard Police Department retiring on disability in 1998. Prior to this he worked for Commercial Intertech and U.S.Can. He was a former member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Campbell and the Hello Brothers Club, Hubbard. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing and bowling and was an avid animal lover supporting many animal causes. Russ graduated from Campbell High School in 1973.

During his many years of suffering he never complained and remained very dignified throughout this long illness. He never asked "why me?" and was always concerned and caring for others.

In addition to his father, George Buzek of Campbell, he leaves his wife, the former Marilyn G. Vanko, whom he married October 20, 1974; four sisters in law and their husbands, Patty (Dennis) Kackos of Chicago, Il, Linda (Jerry) Piergiovanni of Port St. Joe, FL, Nancy (Henry) Wawak of Annapolis, MD and Carol (Ken) Wright of Poland, OH; their children, his nieces and nephews, Lisa and Michael Kackos, Jerry, Stephen, Brian, Amanda and Justin Piergiovanni; an aunt, Judy Moore of Medford OR; cousins Matt, Ruth, Danny, Christopher and Ryan Moore; his father in law and mother in law, Milly Wright of Reynoldsburg, OH and Dr. John D. (Beverly) Vanko of Sharon, PA and his dog Sammy.

He was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents, George and Sue Buzek and George and Naomi Evock.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home with Minister J. Robert Busek officiating.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5 to 7 pm and on Wednesday, one hour prior to the service.
