HUBBARD TWP Ronald R. Hornyak, 71, died Monday afternoon May 20, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center. He was born September 15, 1941 in Youngstown, a son of Michael and Mary Hornyak and was a lifelong Hubbard resident.

Mr. Hornyak, was a welder at Starr Fab from 1986 until his retirement in 2004 and previously had worked for Sheet and Tube, Briar Hill until they closed in 1980. Ronald was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Hubbard and served with the United States Army. He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns and the Ohio State Buckeyes.

He leaves his wife, the former Wendy Cassidy, whom he married April 29, 1972; a son, RC (Jennifer) Hornyak of Las Vegas, NV; a daughter, Courtney Hornyak of Canfield; five brothers, Edward (Irene) Hornyak of Youngstown, Michael (Julie) Hornyak of Newton Falls, Raymond Hornyak of Niles, Robert Hornyak and Martin (Sheila) Hornyak of Asheboro, NC; a sister, Gloria (John) Mihalenko of Myrtle Beach, SC; two grandchildren, Brayden and Mackenzie Hornyak and his beloved dog Belle.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Theresa Pizzola.

Funeral services will be held Friday 11:00 AM at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church with Fr. James Johnson officiating.

Family and friends may call on Thursday 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home and also on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM followed by prayers at 10:30 AM at the funeral home.

Ronald was very close to all of his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-laws and would like to give a special thank you to his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Marion and Sheila Senk.

Interment will be at St. Patrick Cemetery.
