HUBBARD Robert M. Thon, 82, of Hubbard, died Wednesday morning, August 10, 2005, at Select Specialty Hospital in Youngstown. He was born on July 7, 1923, in Youngstown, a son of Adam and Mary Fritz Thon and was a lifelong area resident.

Mr. Thon was a foreman for General Fireproofing Corp. for 43 years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of St. Patrick Church in Hubbard, the Brothers Club, the Foremen's Club and the Hubbard V.F.W. Post No. 3767, where he had served as commander for four years. A 1942 graduate of Wilson High School, Robert was a veteran of the Army Air Corps during World War II, serving in the South Pacific. Robert was an avid golfer, playing in the G.F. League, the V.F.W. League and the Y League.

He leaves his wife, the former Glorya Treater, whom he married December 31, 1950; a son, Larry (Kelly) Thon of Callahan, FL; a daughter, Debra (James) Werner of Hubbard and three grandchildren, Jennifer Thon of Florida and Adam and Mark Werner of Hubbard.

His parents and a brother, Mathew "Mutts" Thon preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, 9:15 a.m. at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home and 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Church in Hubbard.

Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
