Robert Roman's Obituary


AUSTINTOWN TWP Robert (Bob) V. Roman, 76, entered the presence of the Lord Monday evening April 11, 2011 at St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center. He was born May 9, 1934 in Youngstown a son of Max and Mary Wroblewski Roman.

Bob was a mechanic for General Electric Lamp Plant in Austintown for 37 years before retiring in 1998. His love for God was seen first and foremost, in his dedicated endeavors as a Sunday School Superintendant, Royal Rangers Commander, Assistant Music Director for "Hands of Praise", his work with church bulletins and Christmas programs. Bob was a member of Victory Christian Center where he was on the Deacon team. His overwhelming love and devotion for family and friends was almost matched by his love of sports…Softball coach for 8 years and an avid sports fan, he followed the Browns, Indians and Ohio State Football.

He leaves his wife, the former, Nadine Stepancevich, whom he married August 8, 1962; he leaves seven children, Samuel Savon of Boardman, Michael (Carol) Roman of Youngstown, Cindy (Wayne) Anderson of Struthers, Paul (Linda) Savon of Boardman, Debra Loncar of Warren, David (Lauren) Savon of Canfield and Karen (Ed) Valantine of Canfield; 20 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and his beloved puppy Buckeye.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Ted and Frank Roman and two sisters, Mary Seconds and Sally Mikita.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, April 16, 2011 from 4:00 to 5:00 PM at Victory Christian Center.

A celebration of life service will follow at the church at 5:00 PM
