HUBBARD Private funeral services were held for Robert L. "Keip" Keiper Sr., 90, who died Thursday morning September 5, 2024 at Caprice Health Care Center. He was born August 8, 1934 in Johnstown, PA a son of Earl and Elizabeth Dudek Keiper and moved to Hubbard in 1961.

Mr. Keiper was a supervisor for US Can Company for 31 years, before retiring in 1992. He attended Grace Lutheran Church. Keip was a member of the Youngstown Saxon Club and the Youngstown Mannerchor Club. He enjoyed playing golf, having been a member of various leagues and loved to travel.

His wife, the former Valerie Dudei, whom he married August 25, 1973, died October 9, 2008.

Keip leaves two sons, Robert Keiper Jr. and his wife Colleen of Hubbard and James Keiper of Struthers; a daughter, Karen Fazzone and her husband Bill of Poland; a stepdaughter, Brigitte Shindledecker of Sandy Lake, PA; 7 grandchildren, Brendan Keiper, Jason Fazzone, Jaime Fazzone, Nathan Keiper, Andy (Kelsey) Keiper; Lori (Jack) Woods and Brian Shindledecker and two great granddaughters, Kaylen Woods and Anya Shindledecker and his neighbor Keith who was like family to him.

Keip was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Valerie; his sister, Audrey Hinton; a brother, Donald Keiper; his children's mother, Margaret Keiper and his companion, Heidi Candia.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff at Elmwood Assisted Living and Caprice Health Care Center.
