May 10, 1935 – September 7, 2017
HUBBARD A private memorial was held for Robert C. "Bob" Hamments, 82, formerly of Encino, CA, who died Thursday morning September 7, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. He was born May 10, 1935 in Hollywood, CA, a son of Frederick C. and Gladys King Hamments and moved to Hubbard in March of 2016 to be closer to his family.
Mr. Hamments served with the United States Army from 1962 to 1963. He was a member of the Bel Air Presbyterian Church in Los Angeles, CA and was a salesman for Crown Carton Company in Vernon, CA for 40 years, before retiring in 2010. In his teen years, Bob frequented movie studios which allowed him to amass an extensive autograph collection. His passion for Hollywood continued throughout his life. He was also an avid tennis player and a member of the Bel Air Singles Group having traveled the world. Bob especially enjoyed spending time with his daughters and grandkids, and a large group of close knit friends in California.
Bob leaves two daughters, Courtney A. (Geoff) Helmlinger of Hinckley and Amanda L. (Shawn) Marcello of Hubbard and four grandchildren, Addison and Evan Helmlinger and Shawn and Alyssa Marcello.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother who died in infancy.
Bob's final resting place will be back home in California.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Salvation Army, 1501 Glenwood Ave., Youngstown, OH 44511.
