HUBBARD Robert J. Goodyear, 79, of Hubbard, died Friday morning, June 16, 2006, at St. Elizabeth Health Center. He was born November 23, 1926, in Struthers, a son of Joseph and Helen Vaughn Goodyear and was a lifelong area resident.
Mr. Goodyear was a self-employed master plumber for 60 years, a member of the Plumbers & Pipefitters Local No. 396 in Youngstown and a member of AARP. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean Conflict and was decorated with 4 Bronze Stars and 1 Bronze Star with the Victory Device. Bob attended Immaculate Conception Church in Youngstown and St. Patrick Church in Hubbard.
He leaves his wife, the former Helen Sayavich, whom he married on August 25, 1956; two daughters, Diane M. (Jay) Crafton of Hubbard and Juliane M. (Ed) Dulay of Hubbard; a brother, William Goodyear of Hubbard; three sisters, Norma Carroll of Maine, Joan Shainoff of Cleveland and Jeraldine Stere of Hubbard and 5 grandchildren.
His parents and a sister, Helen Wright preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, 9:15 a.m. at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home and at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Church in Hubbard.
Friends may call from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
