HUBBARD Robert B. Evans, 84, of Hubbard, died Sunday morning, February 20, 2005, at Briarfield Manor. He was born July 25, 1920, in Stoneboro, PA, a son of Benjamin and Florence Heckman Evans and was a life long Hubbard resident.
Mr. Evans worked for GATX in Masury for 40 years, retiring in 1978. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Hubbard and enjoyed antiques, yardwork and bowling. He was a 1st Lt. with the U.S. Army 88th Infantry Division during World War II and was the recipient of the Purple Heart.
His first wife, the former Emily Pucak, whom he married January 25, 1942, died September 25, 1953 and his second wife, the former Jane L. Roth, whom he married October 16, 1954, died March 27, 2000.
He leaves two daughters, Linda D. (David) Wood of Hubbard and Cheryl J. (Michael) Creatore of Austintown; 7 grandchildren, Michelle, Tracie, Amy, Robert, B.J., Ashley and Alyssa; and 6 great-grandchildren, Brandon, Christian, Veronica, Audrey, Christopher and Courtney.
Preceding him in death were his parents and a son, Robert Evans.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home in Hubbard.
Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
