YOUNGSTOWN Mr. Robert C. Burley (Burleigh), 83 of DeSoto Ave., died Wednesday morning at Northside Medical Center. He was born November 2, 1917 in Youngstown, a son of Wilmer Glenn and Ella McElwain Burley and was a lifelong area resident.
Mr. Burley was a tool and die maker for Wean United for 40 years before retiring January 7, 1983. He was a member of Brownlee Woods Presbyterian Church of Youngstown where he served as trustee. Robert was a graduate of Rayen High School and served with the United States Army. He was past Commodore of Lake Milton Boat Club, a member of the East Side Civics and Athletic Club, the Saxon Club and the Disabled American Veterans.
His wife, the former, Eleanor Vasko, whom he married September 17, 1942, died June 18, 1996. He leaves a daughter, Rev. Beverly Hall of Marengo, OH; a brother, Charles Burley of Warren, OH and two granddaughters, Courtney Valentino of Campbell, OH and Amber Valentino of Ada, OH. A brother, Harry Burleigh is deceased.
Funeral services will be held Friday 7:00 PM at the Kelley – Robb Funeral Home, Hubbard, OH.
Friends may call at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home on Friday 1 to 3 PM and 5 to 7 PM.
