HUBBARD Rick A. Welch, 63, died Friday afternoon April 4, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center. He was born March 9, 1951 in Youngstown, a son of John E. and Ida Juanita (Holquist) Welch and was a lifelong area resident.

Mr. Welch was manager of the blue printing department for The DeBartolo Corporation for 19 years. He was a 1969 graduate of Girard High School and attended Youngstown College. Rick was a musician having played in several bands, including Clockwork, Ohio Border Line, One, and the Uptown Boys. He also was an avid Civil War enthusiast.

He leaves his father, John Welch of Cornersburg; his wife, the former Janice A. Nock, whom he married August 22, 2009; a son, Daniel P. (Sarah) Welch of Boardman; two stepdaughters, Heather A. (Scott) Schulte of Canfield and Jennifer R. Walsh of Cortland; a brother, Scott E. (Darlene) Welch of Canfield, and two step grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother and a son, Christopher L. Welch.

There are no calling hours or funeral services.
