HUBBARD Funeral services will be held Monday, 9:30 AM at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home and at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick Church, for Richard J. Hamilton, 78 of 112 Jackson St. who died Thursday morning at Northside Medical Center following a short illness. He was born June 29, 1922, in Cincinnati, OH, a son of Archie and Margaret Sherry Hamilton and came to the area as a child.
Mr. Hamilton, also known as Dick, worked for the Howard Johnson Motel, Belmont Ave., retiring in 1987. Prior to this he worked for the Loblaws Warehouse, Youngstown, for 17 years.
He was a member of St. Patrick Church and a member and Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Hubbard Council 2072. He was also a member and past officer of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Hubbard Post 3767, where he was currently serving as a trustee. Mr. Hamilton was a member of the Northside Club, enjoyed woodworking and gardening and served with the Army in World War II. He attended Hubbard High School.
He leaves his wife, the former Phyllis Ross, whom he married June 16, 1948; a son, Richard J. Hamilton Jr. at home; two daughters, Jean DeSantis of Austintown and Joan Dripps of Hubbard; a sister, Nadyne Bartholomy of Hubbard; five grandchildren. A son Robert Scott Hamilton is deceased.
Friends may call at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home Sunday, 4 to 7 PM.
