HUBBARD It is with great sadness to convey the passing of Richard H. Davis, known by all as Dick. Dick grew up in Hubbard, as the son of Eva and Harry Davis, and sisters Helen (Wolfe) and Florence (Burrows) who proceeded him in death.

As a child, he enjoyed the creek behind his north Main Street home and the past-time of naming the make, model, and year for passing cars from the front porch. He later had a passion for owning many different makes, models and years of cars over his lifetime. Dick's first job at age 14 at Joe's TV Repair, influenced and provided skills for another lifelong passion for setting up the latest TV and home entertainment systems.

Dick met his high school sweetheart, Dee (former Dolores Hamady) at Isley's where they both worked and served the famous Sky Scraper ice cream cones. They married and then headed to Germany with the Army, where Dick worked as a morse code operator. Dick eventually found himself back in Hubbard where he owned his Certified Financial Planning business. Dick was a member of the Hubbard Optimist for many years, serving as President and Lieutenant Governor. One of his proudest achievements was the delivery of 100 prisoner refurbished bicycles to Hubbard children at Christmas.

Other than Dee, his wife of 66 years, Dick leaves behind many friends and family that will miss his kind, gracious ways and impeccable manners.

Dick is survived by his beloved wife, Dee and children Richard M. Davis and Joyce Mellinger and her husband Scott and their son Taylor and wife and two children (great-grandchildren).

Family and friends may call on Tuesday July 29, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Kelley-Cummins Funeral Home. Memorial services will follow at 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
