Obituary


Funeral services will be held on Monday at 7:00 PM at The Victory Christian Center Coitsville Campus for Raymond Paul Yohman, 78, who died peacefully Friday evening December 18, 2015 at Jameson Hospital in New Castle surrounded by his family. He was born February 7, 1937 at home in Hubbard, OH, a son of Michael and Anna Palisin Yohman and was a lifelong area resident.

Mr. Yohman graduated from Youngstown State University where he obtained an Associate's Degree and was a member of The Victory Christian Center, Coitsville Campus for 38 years. Ray was an Electrician at Youngstown Sheet and Tube for 38 years and also had been an electrician at Westminster College for 3 years.

Ray was undefeated in arm wrestling, holds the Sharon High School Bench Press record at 418 pounds, played semi pro football and softball for many different local softball leagues. He loved all sports especially baseball and basketball and he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Ray took all of his children everywhere with him and would teach them about sportsmanship and outdoorsmanship, but most importantly, taught them to love our Lord Jesus and to be men and women of integrity and character. He was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

He had a great love for racing pigeons and was a member of the POC Racing Pigeon Club, where he had served as President and Secretary and was the founder and President of the LCF Racing Pigeon Club for over 55 years. Ray was a profound follower of our Lord Jesus Christ.

He leaves his wife, Lois A. August, whom he married June 7, 1958; four sons, Raymond Leo (Diana L.) Yohman of New Wilmington, Paul Michael (Kelly) Yohman, Christopher John (Linda) Yohman and Joseph Michael Yohman all of Pulaski; two daughters, Ann Marie (Mark) Fair of Austin, TX and Hazel June (Tim J.) Bobosky of Pulaski; a sister, Dorothy Malovich of Hermitage; 16 grandchildren; 6 extended grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, John, Michael, George and Robert; six sisters, Anna, Helen, Margaret, Evelyn, Pauline and an infant.

Family and friends may call on Monday prior to the funeral services from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at The Victory Christian Center, Coitsville Campus.

Memorial donations may be made to the Victory Compassion Ministries, 15 Bedford Rd., Lowellville, OH 44436.

Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery on Tuesday at 11:30 AM.

Arrangements are being handled by the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home in Hubbard.
