HUBBARD Raymond Stafford, 89, died Wednesday morning, November 18, 2009 at his son's home in New Carlisle, OH. He was born March 24, 1920 in New Bedford, PA, a son of James and Viola Stauffer Stafford and lived in Hubbard most of his life.
Mr. Stafford was a tool and die maker for Powell Pressed Steel, retiring in 1982. He served with the United States Navy during World War II.
His wife, the former Mabel McKnight, whom he married November 21, 1942, died January 14, 1995.
He leaves two sons, Raymond E. (Kathleen) Stafford of New Carlisle and James R. Stafford of Independence, MO; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Stafford Beecham of Raymor, MO, Benjamin Stafford of Kearny, MO, James Tomlin of Decatur, IL, Renee Stafford Matzke of Blue Springs, MO, Danielle Stafford Dixon of Clovis, NM and Curtis Tomlin of Virginia Beach, VA; nine great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Shirley Tomlin Stokes, daughter-in-law, Ruth Stafford and a grandson, Jason Stafford.
Private graveside services were held Monday afternoon at Hubbard Union Cemetery.
