HUBBARD Raphael "Rae" McGhee, 76, passed away Sunday, November 15, 2009 at Farrell UPMC Hospital after a brief illness. She was the sixth daughter of the late James and Lucy Carano Vernell. Rae was born on April 22, 1933 in Hubbard and graduated from Hubbard High School in 1951.

Rae worked at Golden Dawn Foods / PJS Warehouse in Sharon for 26 years. She also worked at Farrell Golden Dawn and P.I. & I Motor Express in Masury before retiring in 1995.

Rae leaves a loving companion, Ronald Glaser, with whom she made her home. Two sons, Byron III (Lou Ann) of Brookfield, Jeffrey (Patricia) of Kinsman; two daughters, Deborah (Thomas) Sanford of Hartford, Cindy (Robert) Fithian of Hermitage, PA; nine grandchildren, Dawn, Jeffrey, Madelyn, Sarah, Zachary and Katelin McGhee, Nicole and Ian Sanford and Rebecca Fithian; five great grandchildren, Tyler, Andrew, Callie, Macey and Shawn; two sisters, Julia Smaldino of Austintown and Rita Bolchalk of Hubbard; a brother, James (Claire) Vernell of Hubbard; a sister-in-law, Mary Vernell of Hubbard and a special niece, Linda Sisco Brown of Wilkes-Barre, PA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Louis and John and three sisters, Ann Dunn, Carmel Sisco DePaul and Louise Borecki.

In her younger years she enjoyed dancing and bowling. Her greatest joy was spending time with Ron and her children and grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, 11:00 AM at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home.

Family and friends may call on Wednesday 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
